8/10/21 - 8/14/21 Our time with our family in Yellowstone was perfect. So many sights and great times together. Here are a few of the pics.

8/10 - Lunch spot on the river with of course a casting net in hand.

Pool geyser

Waterfall along a gravel side road off the beaten path.

600 foot elevation change with 9 switch backs to the edge of the Lower Falls.

Made it down and back

Upper Falls - This spot brought back so many memories for Wendy and me. We have a picture of the four boys and us 27 years ago in 1994. Still the same just somehow we got older.
8/12-  Stagecoach ride with the family out to a herd of Bison.

Just a mile hike on the Hell Roaring trail to a suspension bridge Yellowstone River. However, it proved to be a challenging hike back up the 500 foot incline. Beautiful views from the bridge and worth the hike.

Big western Quail on the hike.

8/13 Headed to West Yellowstone for a rodeo and shopping. We visited Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. Pretty interesting. The animals at this center were taken from the wild to protect humans and themselves.

Wendy and her new friend Big George
West Yellowstone Rodeo was small with lots of locals, but a ton of fun.

8/14 Left Yellowstone behind heading to Bozeman Airport to send off Jess and Annabelle then heading to Great Falls, MT to meet our friends the Gardners. Of course we took a side trip on the way and stopped at Grant-Kohrs Ranch Nat't Historic Site, a 1880's cattle ranch which continues to operate today. Who knew, not me, that the cattle we have in the US are not native. They arrived with Christopher Columbus in 1497 and the Spanish in the 1500's from Europe.

  1. Looks like the family had a great time….it will be quiet with just the two of you. Enjoy the Pacific Northwest.
