8/7 - 8/8/21 - Made it to Yellowstone NP and most of our family joined us at our cabin outside the Northwest Gate. Matt and Sammy remained home as their 2nd child is expected in the coming weeks. Weather here has been great, mid 70's and very cool at night. A welcome relief from the 90's and 100's so far on our trip.

The North Gate includes an arch named after Theodore Roosevelt to commemorate Yellowstone as the country's first NP in 1872.

Our cabin right on the Yellowstone River in Gardiner, Montana is great. Sleeps 18 and is reasonably priced.

Lots of Bison (150 +) sightings, one mother bear and clubs bear and antelope in Lamar Valley.

Hiked Mammoth Hot Springs upper and lower walkway.

Lunch on the Yellowstone River

Side road pull off over looking a waterfall.
